The more people that fill this out the more chance we have of keeping the right to use bus lanes. Thumbs Up

I've filled it in, I rarely ride the bike in London, am always in the van, but I said I ride in the bus lanes and find it much safer Thumbs Up

I've ridden up the A41 a few times and you could use the bus lane on that, and it was so much safer and easier.

Providing cars don't pull out I give me a slight scare at times I feel a lot more at ease in bus lanes.

I've filled it in despite being up North. It'll be nice when I visit Razz

Whilst I don't particularly GAF about Westminster parking charges, I'm supporting this one because my local council have been "consulting" on this issue for at least 4 years. The more councils implement this, the better.

And because it will piss off countless lycra-clad wankers... Thumbs Up

URGENT ACTION NEEDED - by YOU!

Apparently Transport for London are receiving very few comments from
motorcyclists about the new London-wide TfL trial of motorcycles in
red-route bus lanes.

The latest news is that as part of the evaluation of the scheme 'users
views' will be taken into account and 'numbers responding' will play a
part in this.

Clearly none of us want to see a situation where 5,000 cyclists have
protested and 200 motorcyclists support. It's this kind of thing that
would shift the political balance against us.

However, cyclists campaign groups are steadily orchestrating a build
up of resistance to the measure, being well organised at grass roots
level in the capital and elsewhere. Tfl have already received large
numbers of submissions from cyclists, opposing motorcycles in bus
lanes.

We risk losing the scheme at the end of the 18 month period unless the
motorcycle world demonstrates widespread support for the measure.

We urge all of you who read this to use this link to visit the TfL
'user views' website and complete the response form, which will take
only about two minutes.

https://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/roadusers/finesandregulations/motorcycleinbuslanes/default.aspx
All, if you're a member of any other bikers social networking site,
could you start a thread on this? Please also use whatever other
avenues for publicity that you have (owners clubs, other social
networks, word of mouth, forward this email, etc).

The cycle lobby groups are motivated and determined. They see denying
motorcycles access to bus lanes as a number one key goal. They have a
strong and well motivated campaigning local network. They will do all
they can to achieve their goal. Unless we respond to this, we risk
seeing this hard won concession denied to us after the experimental
period has finished.

The TfL scheme is being keenly watched outside London. Failure of the
scheme in London will be likely to cripple our chances of getting
motorcycles into bus lanes elsewhere.

Note: You don't have to live in London to participate, so no excuses.

Done aswell.
I've been making full use of the bus lanes when riding around london. It's so much easier. I don't need to filter in the middle of the road. and worry about someone wanting to go into a side road on the right, or a car in a side road on the left wanting to join the traffic. Also, the areas that have fat chunky solid white lines for bus lanes, seem to be really nice and wide, drivers steer well away from the line. Which means you could just ride along the bus lane. then slow down abit and filter between a parked bus and traffic.

Done and done, being a motorcycle courier this is great for me because I can get my work done quicker.

The older scheme started by Red Ken was obviously a success, that scheme was extended to some borough roads. The new scheme is just an extension of the original pilot scheme and I'm enjoying it.
