This made my blood boil today.

Silly season’s here. Politicians holiday on the Costa Mini-carbon-footprint, parasitical political pundits shut up shop and their laptops, and editors panic over who/what will occupy tower blocks of news columns.

The silliest story can win overnight accommodation in one of these blocks, and have I got a corker...

While Gordon builds sandcastles and whiz-kid politicians construct coups, across the river at Lambeth Palace a debacle of international bishops plot the future, and maybe even muse about the next Archbishop of Canterbury.

Will she be a lesbian?

Wow! Is that silly, or is that silly? One feels that anything can happen in a suicidal season as the Church tears herself apart over gays and lady bishops.

Or how about that naughty F1 racing chief Max Mosley becoming her deputy up at York?

One of my Lancashire Telegraph website critics suggests Uncle Max and his Olympic S&M quintet are just as godly as anything taught in the Bible.

It may not be immediately obvious, but this silly season I’m swotting up on wisdom, courtesy of the daily Bible booklet Every Day With Jesus (hugely recommended).

Human silliness begins, EDW-Jesus suggests, when we turn our human desires into divine commands. This happens when we creatures feel that sex, politics, power, femininity (etcetera) are far more important than the Creator and his desires.

When that which is created becomes that which we worship, Olympic heights of folly are possible.

Wouldn’t it be nice to win gold in wisdom this summer?

"Rev Kevin Logan", you are an arsehole, and don't even deserve to have a job as a beekeeper, let alone as a reverend with his own newspaper column.

By the way, I have absolutely nothing against religion, believing in god myself, but I don't know how this guy gets away with spouting this kind of shite in a local newspaper.

I'm not even gay, but if the local gay rights group decides to go and have words with this nutcase, I'd be pretty happy to go and join them.

Funny how he's talking about the appaling shit that fills the news columns and then comes out with that wad of bollocks.

Not sure about anyone else, but is he not scorning the fact that they're making a big deal out of something that isn't?

To be honest, I can't really tell if he's for or against whatever it is he's lambasting...

Confused

What exactly are you railing against?

The only thing the good Reverend is mocking is the Church of England and the fact it's ripping itself apart over issues that are virtually irrelevant in today's society.

There isn't anything bigotted, offensive or even critical about lesbians, gays or anyone else there - unless you happen to be a C of E Bishop.

Jeebus, read the article before you start ranting about it. Hopefully when you go to burn down the vicar's house he'll smack some sense into you with an English primer.

I'm just outraged that a grown man can believe in an all powerful being that created everything but deliberately hides proof of his existence, and yet demands to be worshipped.
