My advise would be -
Lean a little bit more
Go a little bit faster
Hang off a bit more

What tyres have you got on it? 207s?
Has the roundabout got a good surface?
When I first got my knee down, I just went round the roundabout until it went down. Might be worth going early on a sunday morning or something when its quieter so you can concentrate more.
Make sure your hanging off the bike and not putting excessive weight on the bars.

Are you scraping the pegs? or the blobs? If so, then you're leaning far enough.

Yeah, but are you sticking your knee out? Razz

Also, it's sometimes misleading as to how much you think that you are leaning/hanging off...get a mate to follow you around for a second opinion...

I can never seem to get me knee down either.

I got pretty short legs though, would that make a difference or have we just gotta lean more?

Initially i thought i had a 'height disadvantage' too, which is why i thought i struggled to GMKD Sad .....

But i then realised that G has pretty much the same leg length to me (and he can GHKD 'just like that'. So i now dont think it is so much 'height' that counts. Sad

The main thing is simply to have the right technique and the right amount of 'hang'.

BUT.... i rekon i have another disadvantage being iccle.
G rekons i can hang off more, then GMKD easier.

BUT ......now i'm truely not just saying this as an excuse/ wimp thing....
But i physically cant hang off anymore, because i physically dont have the upper body and arm strength to get my self back on the bike and into a vertical position again Confused

When i do manage to GMKD, i have to give the bike a slight flick, so that i can get the momentum to drag myself back upright.
Without my little 'flick' i cant get back on the bike and would simply remain hanging!!! Confused

That will probably sound strange to alot of you. But having arm/upper body strength is significantly important, so that you can remain 'in control'.

I'm weak and feable! Sad

i dunno about that......
but i found with my nsr i had to give the throttle a little flick inorder to get back on the seat etc, i think pretty much everybody needs too Razz

and besides V getting your knee down, is still getting your knee down....whos cares how you personally manage it Wink

Don't know how to do that 'Craig wrote thing',

But what do you mean Craig? Something like - a nice stable, off the boil, slow steering, gob green Kwak? https://smilies.networkessence.net/s/otn/realhappy/mhihi.gifhttps://smilies.crowd9.com/contrib/AoErat/awink.gif

V - you don't seem to have that much trouble getting your knee down, didn't you get it down at first attempt? and although G gets his down with reletive ease, you might have noticed he also crashes a fair amount too........

ooo-er this is a bit of a scary thread..

..hang off like a gibbon and you'll upset the bike and then find it hard to get back up again, as well as run the risk of seriously falling off .. there is no strength involved if yer doin it right - honest Wink

if you hang off too far you just end up pushing the bike away from you, that is back up straight again so what happens is, the more you hang off, the less likely you are to GYKD.

ONLY one cheek off the seat well before the corner, finish braking before you tip in, you don't want to be either on the all the weight on the front wheel from braking or the forks bouncing back up as you tip in, ideally wait a bit longer - until you can see the apex, stick your knee out, countersteer to tip the bike over quickly at the same time rolling the throttle gently open to balance everything out and accelerate round and out of the curve.... lean, lean skim (don't want to dig in, you'll upset everything again). countersteer out again (no physical effort at all), at the same time gassing it away as soon as the bike is upright - easy peasy, especially on an R6

TRACK DAY. TRACK DAY, TRACK DAY

if you can get down to slough one weekend i will teach you to get your knee down and this goes for anybody who wants to learn. also it wont be just getting it down on a roundabout like alot of people (seems alot of peole have only got their right knee down) you will be getting both down and not at low speeds

Luke (retro) was well funny! He just kept throwing the bike into roundabouts and going round a few times to GHKD. I doubt he could actually do it on a proper road seeing as his left slider aint scraped in the slightest Wink
I've been closer with my left knee than my right :S

When I was learning to gmkd initially I found it much easier to hang off loads (this was on a smooth roundabout)... when I got more used to it I started to do the one arse-cheek method.

Unfortunatly (or not for everyone else Confused Wink ) V's leather's are quite tight... so it's harder for her to jump around the bike. Her seat's also quite small, I found that when sitting on it I couldn't actually be half on it... either sitting on it or completley off (but that's just my big arse probably.)
