I've now decided i'm interested in a cbr400rr the nc29 of course, even though ive asked about god knows how many bikes and decided countless times "this is the one for me".

While im saving the funds, and after discussions with binge about the nc29 i'd just like to know hat are the differences between the two bikes other than the price and obviously the nc29 being the updated model.

Many thanks!

The 23's frame is completely different, wheels are different sizes (the 23 has an 18" rear)

Other obvious stuff like newer styling on the 29.

A CBR600 engine also wont go into a 29 whereas with some mods will go into a 23. Wink

I was thinking more hidden personally, such as carb set ups, bhp, wheel sizes, suspension characteristics etc.

I mean i expect performance wise theyre similar but i havent had a real look at either of them properly!

NC29 has a better stock exhaust. Alot of 23 owners mod the bracket on the 29 pipes as they have a bigger internal bore.

NC29 has better forks.

NC29 has more choice of tyres. 17" front and back. Change the sizes to 160/60R17 and 120/70R17 and you will have a very wide choice of good tyres to choose from.

The 600 engine will also go into the NC29 with a bit of work. Slightly more work than on the NC23. But it is do-able.

I think they share the same carbs although the NC29 has bigger jets.

NC23 engine is more robust. But there are more tuning parts for the NC9.

same as body work, Tyga only do a kit for the NC29 at the moment.

sweet, well i know id rather pay for the 'New model' rather than the cheaper '23'.

Just need to stop paying for lasses to gan places and i'll buy meself a proper bike for a change!

I think full tyga with carbon bellypan and the rest painted in a nice honda red colour could work. or simply a bonny black with simple decals. I'll have a word with a painter when the time comes!

I'm not so such. I wouldn't base my decision on a couple of minor revisions the 29 has over the 23 - especially if there's a price difference. Any money saved could be spent getting the 23 up to a better standard than a stock 29. Have a gander over at 400greybike, should offer some further advice there.

Please don't go the Tyga route - it looks complete arse IMHO, like the bastard child of a Peugeot Speedfight

Corrected. Thumbs Up

Understood the tyga kit takes away the original look but apparantly a nicely painted one boosts the price up a bit, for which on resale i'd quite like.

saying that, i'm likely to drop it as i havent had a sports bike since my NSR (ridden them though!) and it'll take some getting used to over the gs500e.

I suppose my 'tyga' decision will be based on the condition of any bike i look at, although i should have a bit of a dig into info. 400gb here i come!
