 |
|
Afternoon all,
My MOT is up in early september. I think I should be fine on most things, got a dodgy right indicator that works on and off but I have narrowed this to a region of wire that must have a loose connection so will sort that out prior.
Other than that, the only thing I can think of is that the forks need new seals and bushes as the left one is leaking slightly. I am wondering if they check the chain and sprockets on an MOT, because I have a feeling they could do with being replaced, so would it be a good idea to say to them "Hi there, could you replace my fork seals/bushes/oil and chain/sprockets, then run 'er through an MOT?"
Im also weary of my rear brake pad, any concievable way I can put this to the test without having to fail the test first and thus fork out even more money that I dont have??
Cheers,

As long as the chain is adjusted correctly, and the teeth arn't badly worn and the chain doesn't pull to far back off the sprocket they should pass an mot |

fork seals are only a failure if they leak onto other components. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. All it is at the moment is that I can see oil residue at the top of the forks from where ive perhaps gone off a curb and thus compressed it, there is a small patch of oil around the rubber seal, but it is not at the stage where its leaking down the fork or onto the brakes or anything (I wouldnt ride it if that was the case) but im assuming its only going to get worse.

Lmao, walked into that one didnt I....
As far as the chain and spockets goes, I might try and get a picture up so that you can see how loose it is and the state of the spockets because you guys know what to look for way more than me, might as well show you the fork seals as well while im at it.
Cheers for the help so far guys, always appreciated!
