How long does it take for an insurance company to give you a refund?
Both me and the other half insured the same bike and two weeks later I cancelled it as he sold the bike. Now we called them and they said 4 weeks we would get it back. Most of the money anyway lose of a few pound and his insurance is more than mine.
Its been 12 weeks now. Everytime he phones they say they dont have it as it went through someone else, which is bull they arnt a broker they are a local company. Last time they said it was to be with us on the 1st August.
About to call them on Monday to find out whats happened to it again.
12 weeks later though still nothing? I know they are bad at payouts but surely not this slow. We have phoned about 6 times already. ____________________ All the breast.

They're a broker.
No reason why they wouldn't be able to give you the cheque when you go there. Take some ID and some of the paperwork from them just so they can't say that they can't give you the cheque cos might not be who you say you are.
Mentioning FSA and Fianical Ombudsman should make them be slightly more interested in not fucking you about any longer.
If you wanna be spiteful then once you've got your cheque from them, put in complaints with the FSA and the Fianical Ombudsman anyway about how long it too to get a refund. |

A little tip for anyone trying to get a refund out of any company, when you have paid via a card.
Get them to put it in writing with this info on.
Date of refund.
Amount of refund.
Last 4 of your card.
And name of company.
If you have not recived it within 15 day for Maestro and 30 days for visa call the card provider and with the above info you can get them to clain the money back.
Also any sort of dispute when you have used your card, contact the card provider and see if they can assist.
Just don't keep banging away with the retaier as they know just what the time limits are and will stall as much as poss till you are out of time to do anything. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

They are very quick on grabbing your money and not so when paying it back. Getting a nice big cheque soon. I suspect someone wasnt doing their job up there and palming us off and I got a lady who hopefully will do her job this morning.
he paid his part in cash, I added on with my dads card a few days later as I needed instand cover. But they sending a cheque. They didnt need reminding how much it was on the phone either, seemed to be on the ball. I dont know why its taken over 12 weeks for a refund. we will see if its done this time.
This is his insurance company and I certainly wont be using them in future. I only did as mine required you had to be married to be on the same policy even though our address is the same didnt matter. ____________________ All the breast.

Old Thread Alert!
