No not electrically!!!!

But by the price of getting the Bandit Painted.

I phoned Sudden Impact based in Romford for a quick quote, and boy was I shocked at the price. I was thinking of a basic Silver and Blue scheme on the tank and all plastics including Belly pan hugger undertray etc. and the guy said:

"Off the top of my head your looking at over a £1000"

Over a fu**ing grand!!!!! I never thought it would be that much. and that was without the wheels or any type of polishing, airbrushing etc.

I was thinking more along the lines of £300.

Anybody here got a custom paint job and if so how much did you pay.

I know Keith got is Frame powder coated and that Kevs is a custom jobbie, and come to think of it Mr Lucky got the NSR painted.

HELP!!!!

Mike.

Hi

That is one hell of alot

The Freccia cost me £267 for a full respray of the bodywork (about 3 years ago) but his prices have now gone up a bit. I got him to respray one of the Aprilias at the end of last summer and that was £400 plus £30 odd for the stickers. Dream Machine said £750 + vat for doing the bodywork on the Bimota!

Frame powder coating cost me £125 for the Bandit (including a few extra bits from other bikes)

Either he does expensive custom airbrush schemes, is seriously expensive or thinks you want him to strip the bike and rebuild it with a powder coated frame

All the best

Keith

Sudden Impact do really nice custom paint jobs - the best bet is - if you want panels and a tank spraying one colour, go to a standard car spraying place and get them to do it for you - I just got quoted £150 for the NSR's full fairing (but no tank) in black and then gone over in laquer.

My tank repair on the GS plus a spray of the tank and the few panels it has was £150 too!!!!

I'm sure Dream Machine do resprays from around £800, for a full faired race bike.
Its worth searching around.

Right then, I phoned Dream Machine for a rough quote which came back as:

£495 for all plastics (Tank (i know its not plastic), Belly pan, Huggers, Undertray, Headlight etc)

and

£140 for the wheels

Plus VAT including Pick Up and Delivery of the Bike.

They do not have the facilities to do the frame but if supplied on its own they can send it off and deliver it back.

They were alot more friendlier than Sudden Impact.

Mike.

Dream Machine are good. One of my mates works at CMC and a few of the people there have racepaint from Dream Machine. Pretty good so I hear...
