Hi all - Just joined.
This thread is about my boys bike a CG125. Now here is the prob he is 6 foot six" and looks okayish on it but want to change look to trailey so the bike looks bigger. So longer forks and rear suspension will make it taller that I know. What I want to ask is what forks will fit or will XL125 forks and yokes bolt straight in ? Or any other suggestions.
Rear suspension is now prob just longer shocks as long as no foulling the chain/suspension run. Its the forks that are the main issue. I need to replace because the previous owner bent the originals and and buckled both wheels hitting a kerb. So any help much appreciated Cool

Why not simply just buy a diffrent 125 for him. From what you are saying it will be just as cheap.

While you could do what you want, and it will have been done before i bet. Thumbs Up
Its not just about changing forks etc i would be worried that bending the forks has also damaged the frame as well.

I brought the CG for 50 quid and its a 02 model with low miles. I have ridden it round my local garages which are big enough to change gear and use brakes positively etc. I know it cost me about 100 quid to put back to standard which may be the route I take, but just wanted to see if there are any of you out there who can suggest alternative forks to make a more offroad look . Any info much appreciated. Very Happy

I suppose he will get used to it. Thanks for the pic. We all have to pay our dues until test passed and bigger bikes are available. I will pass on the pic and good luck and ride safe. Cool

If it cost £50 and £100 to fix to standard, why not sell it for £700 (or whatever CG's are going for these days) and then buy a traillie style?

It will be cheaper and easier, not to mention easier to resell, to set it as standard.

However one of the lads on this forum, Virus, did set up his ancient CG as an offroader.
