what are they like? compared to sports 6, 1000, and other twins.

ever since ive seen/heard it, ive wanted one. It's one of the bikes i want to own regardless of how bad it is if you know what i mean...

One person that would have known was JammyG - he doesn't exist on the forums any more but he had both - 00 R6 and 99 TLR. Didn't have much problems with his - felt physically big so if you're on the small side, you might notice it more - i'm 5'8 and i found the seat height was a bit high compared to my 6R. Suspension was a bit stiff but found that it was pretty stable for the roads. Looks cumbersome, but a very good bike in reality.

I rode a TLR for about 10 minutes and didn't get on with it.

I tried to ride it with the same physical effort as my SV and it just refused to change direction.

From my very limited experience, I found that much more effort was required to make it go around corners than other bikes I have ridden - 675, Daytona 600, R1, Speed Triple.

If Bigwill is still around on the forums, ask him about it...it was his that I borrowed. He only had it for a month before chopping it against a FZ1, but he put 2k miles on it.

To answer your question about going from a 6 to a litre twin, I couldn't recommend it enough.

The power delivery is just SO much more satisfying. I'm literally always thinking - why didn't I do this earlier!

HAving said that, if you want something sporty, I think the RSV is a good bet. I tried Coronaboner's and loved it.

I've got a firestorm because I like to go for my long rides. Otherwise would've got a Mille or an SP2 - or a Duc if I had the cash!

Good bikes, but probably not for your 'riding style' if i can call it that.
The sheer size and weight means it wont turn in anywhere near as quick as an R6 and will probably leave someone like you running wide into oncomming traffic.

However if you can get used to it, the stabilty of them is amazine and set up properly you can get them to stick to a line very very well.

The TL1000s was the widow maker mostly due to its wierd rear shock, if I remember right it'd overheat and sieze? I'm 99% sure that the TLr didn't have the same problem thank god

wave is that srad body kit on it? i know they look very similar but are they essentially identical (except engine and stuff like that)

was tempted to buy one that was cheap on ebay a while ago but the fairings were pretty naff so ddnt go for it.

The engine's very nice and they handle OK.
You get a lot of power and torque at moderate revs - its very easy to wheelie.
Running costs are not that bad, you even get most of 60mpg riding sensibly (not that you will much)

Very easy to lope along at 90 to 100 without even realising on half decent tarmac.
100mph is nothing to this bike, feels rock solid at that sort of speed.
Can your licence stand it?

Its funny there seems to be thread about TLs or SVs every other week on here

I heard only the TLS was called thew widow maker because of a duff rear shock that was causing highsides on the exits of corners.

I've got waves old one now.
Absolutley love it. Before it I had a Gsxr 600 and a bandit 600. Haven't looked back since tbh. Theres power where ever you want it and it feels really planted.
I'll admit it does need more effort getting it to tip in etc than the GSXR did but I guess the steering damper etc adds to that.
The handling on mine is really good. Has the ohlins (although currently set up for someone who's prob half my weight haha!)

I'd deff advise getting one, or atleast getting a test ride on one.
My only negative is that compared to the bandit and gsxr it absolutley drinks through the petrol haha!

oh and forgot to say, if you do get one make sure it has obnoxiously loud cans.
