When applying the brake or clutch, how many fingers do you use?

I seem to use all 4, using anything less seems strange?

....kudos on the thread title.

I was going to reply with something along the lines of "the lady complains if I use any more than 2"....

*cough*

anyway, if I'm "in the zone" all of them, if I'm feeling lazy 2 generally.

All 4 for the clutch and 2 for the front brake, although if i'm going above 50-60mph then i use all 4 for the front brake.

It just feels so weird, but having smaller levers would probably help.

two for two reasons

1) You should only need two on decent brakes to stop the bike
2) I have shorty levers and can only fit two fingers Wink

Shorty levers are great, use two fingers on both levers.

Laughing Thumbs Up ...thought I was in random banter for a sec!

I usually use two, purely because when I first started riding my mate constantly took the piss because I was using the whole hand, and that's "not what racers do"... that tool no longer rides after demolishing his bike, can't believe I used to take in everything he told me about bikes. Force of habit now..

I hold my levers well funny.

Arrow Brake i use 3 fingers. I've got my thumb and index wrapped around the grip and i've got my middle, ring and pinkie left for braking. My alpinestars GP gloves have sewn ring and pinkies, but it also suits my braking style. Having this configuration allows me to blip the throttle with the index and thumb wrapped around the grip whilst the remainder keeps the brakes applied - i find it smooth.

Arrow Clutch is usually one or two fingered. I normally do smooth clutchless upshifts, but use one finger to flick the clutch if it needs help getting into gear. Downshifting, i pull the lever back in with two fingers - right hand action = braking and blipping; see above.

Pazzos would be of no use to me unless they are long.

Depends on the type of girl she is. Oh right.

4 on the brake, 4 (sometimes 2) on the clutch unless I'm nailing it, then none on the clutch.

Four on both. I could use more fingers on the front though, as my GSX has brake pads made of cheese.

Same here, I did play around with using 1,2,3&4 fingers for a while but found this the most comfortable way for me.

As for the clutch, I use all 4 fingers, can't get used to using any other combination... Very Happy

I use 3 on the clutch, and 4 on the brake. Braking I'm always going in a straight line, but sometimes when changing gear I'm turning so want to still be holding the handlebars.

Usually 4 on the clutch, or if I'm 'on a roll' none.

2 fingers on the brake out of habit with using a stroker but recent lessons had me using 4, feels too weird really, won't be staying that way I don't think. *shrugs*

3 for the brake, got a a brembo master cylinder/ lever so usually hold it on the outside to get maximum leverage and squeeze like fuck, thats why i would never get the half levers.
Got a slipper clutch so don't have to worry about blipping the trottle. Thumbs Up

Only use the clutch for 1st to 2nd and for changing down,
