This has happened, in reverse, to me twice!
I parked up ok, but came back to find I was squashed in and there was no way I'd be able to get out without the risk of knocking the bikes beside me, so one of the other guys pulled me out of the space backwards!
Other time I'd parked alongside all the others without realising that because it was just sloping downhill I wouldn't get the bike back out. They had to pull me out then too!
It's a little embarrassing, but I've found other bikers just laugh and happily help, cos they're really fab peeps!! ____________________ 'The core of a man's spirit comes from new experiences'

Parked up in town a while ago and due to the camber of the road couldnt get the sidestand down. after a couple of tries struggling to back up the steep camber i was about to give up and get off when a guy who was very amused in the car next to me got out and pushed me back out...
Similar experience... ____________________ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, 'specially when being asked by a marshall to park the bike in a particular spot (on gravel or uneven ground), I usually get some hefty bugger to give my bike a push/pull in the right direction.
I just haven't got the strength to lug my bike about alone. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

Pulled into the last space in the doctor's car park one morning, and didn't realise it was on a steep incline until it was too late. I couldn't put the side-stand down as it'd have rolled off it, and there was a huge kerb and a row of bushes bordering the space, so I had to try an' back myself out of it, but I didn't have the strength.
So it me a good few minues to inch it back, bit by bit, grabing the front brake each time, then roll forward on full lock, and then inch it back again, bit by bit etc, basically a 25-point turn in a space little bigger than the length of the bike. Once I was facing the other way, I saw some bloke'd been standing there watching me, from the other side of the car park, hedge clippers in his hand. "...that looked like hard work" he said. "Thanks for the bloody help" says I. If I'd known he was there I've have asked him to come and give the front a push.
By the next morning, I couldn't lay on my back or stand up straight and coughing, laughing or sneezing had me in absolute agony - I'd pulled my intercostal muscles and they took about 6 weeks to heal properly.
I figure there's a lesson in there somewhere. |
