Eyup fella's, as the title really, i'll be looking for a track bike this winter, any suggestions for something suitable? I wont be spending a fortune on it, 2-2.5k max, not looking for the quickest bike ever, just something half realiable, ok performance, and preferably cheap enough parts just in case i stack it lol. Any ideas?

Any sports 600. Usually the better (and cheaper) beginner track bikes are stuff like older ZX6Rs and CBR600s.

Are you wanting it to be road legal?

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Doesn't have to be road legal no, i'll be keeping another bike on the road so it covers that one.

Early R6 is a good start - anything used in club racing there's usually a healthy spares market; providing it's not too new, there's always people selling up to get a newer bike.

Look for aftermarket suspension and consider factoring in a suspension rebuild into the price as well as getting it set up for you.

Apart from spares - as they were rarely raced, 'cos you had to pay extra for the 600cc over the 636cc version Smile.
