I currently use a Gillette Mach 3.

I've been thinking of giving the Fusion a go.

Anyone use one?

I think for my next shave I might give the old mach 3 a go, the fusion is good but I seem to remember the mach 3 being really good. The trimmer on the top of the fusion is useful though.

MACH 3 or tesco 3 blade own brand

There the only razors which can cut my thick assed beard without blunting on the first pass. Got a new fusion for my Bday and the blades rip my face apart its easier to shave with a piece of broken mirror Evil or Very Mad i think the blades are just to thin and bend before they cut Question . also could not get a close shave after using it and had to finish the job with the mach 3

Tesco own brand are great i can get a nice babysoft shave from them. (they have 3 blades and there blue and gray)

Yeah mach 3 are good but you need the power version, doesn't do anything special shaving wise but does clear all the hair out when you put it in water so you don't have to keep running it under the tap.

The fusion can't really cope with longer stuff the way the mach 3 does and the edge blade is crap for your sideburns, the blades are rediculasly expensive aswell.

If your ever buy mach 3 blades from a market or carbooter, check that they have gilette on the back of the blade, there are loads of fake ones about they look genuine but they don't have gilette on the blade and cut your face to bits (the blades are at odd angles) the box and plastic case are identical but they realy are usless.

Don't make the "upgrade" from Mach 3 to Fusion. The Mach 3 is the best Gilette shaving product out there, so much more smoother.

Arguably the Fusion gets a closer shave but if you leave your hair to grow for a few days it will tug like hell and is especially crap around the chin bone.

I've just started using the Wilkinson Sword Titanium, however that tugs a lot as well, so will go back to a Mach 3.

I bought a King of Shaves AZOR.

https://farm4.static.flickr.com/3288/2615917888_2150db4639_o.jpg

From the awkwardness of the flat handle its like shaving with a potato peeler or tongue scraper, the blades just don't seem to cut the rough stuff more pull them out and the amount of stubble rash and missed hairs is ridiculous.

Poor show KOS.

Thumbs Down

I am tempted to get a proper safety razor, but splashing out a fair few quid is an expensive gamble for a close shave.

Fusion may be my next try as always used Mach III in the past.

The Wilkinson's Sword with beard trimmer always got clogged up no matter how many rinses or rattles on the sink. The trimmer does trim the pubes nicely though.

The price of fusion blades does look excessive.

I did make the mistake of buying some Mach 3 blades from ebay once. Utter crap. They were painful to use and a couple actually fell apart. Obviously fakes.

I have also thought about getting a safety razor but I'm not sure if I could cope with the blood loss Smile

I always used the 2-blade Gillette Sensor or Sensor Excel. I kept on trying these 3-blade Gillettes but they never felt right in my hands. It felt like I was having to hold the handle perpendicular to my face, whereas I wanted it to be more like 45 degrees.

Last time I was flying somewhere I couldn't get any blade replacements, so I bought the Gillette Sensor 3 Disposables, and I now think they are the best shave.

I feel a bit guilty at the waste of plastic seeing as they are disposables, but as far as I can see there is not a regular version of this razor. Am I wrong?

Got the Mach4 the Fusion and Fusion Power. Prefer the Fusion Power by far.

It also depends on what you use to shave with Foam, Gel or oil. Found Gel the best for me but others swear that oil is better.

i like the gel that comes in a big toothpaste tube rather than stuff that comes in an aerosol. Shaving oil is better but more of a pain to wash off.

I use a Mach 3 thing about once a week. Seems to work best with the gel stuff. Feels smoother after.

Safety razor is the way to go (the ones with the classic shaped 'razor blade').

You can get ten new blades for the price of one of the crappy 'latest' fusion/mach 3/fourteen bladed razor effort. Gives a lovely shave, is piss easy to clean and look sweet.

I had a vintage aluminium one (my dad's from the 60's) which I lost whilst at uni. Fucking annoying. Was the nicest razor I ever had.

Spend the bit of money to get the base and stop shelling out an arm and a leg in running costs.

That'll be my next option although I have the feeling I'll shred my face with one.

Sensor Excel for me. Cheap blades and doesn't cut my face to ribbons or make it sore.

Or this. Thumbs Up

You can get Sensor 3 blades that fit on the Sensor/Sensor Excel handle. Thumbs Up

Shaving with the Fusion Power feels weird.

The ladies might like it though - a vibrating razor Smile
