What is it?

I see about dyno jets 1,2&3 but what does it do? and how?
Ive read your only meant to do it with after market exhaust and air filters along with other bits too?

Can any one shed some light on the subject?

From what i understand the different jet kits are for different applications.

stage 1 give a general overall improvement all over the rev range while stage 3 are like racing kits which will probably give more top end but youll loose some at the bottom as a trade off.

Something like that anyway - might ahve got the numbers the wrong way round but you get the idea.

you can rejet your carbs without any other upgrades like pipe/filters etc and still see an improvment. The improvment will be most apparent with some light modifications on it however.

Basicly the jets just control how much fuel is let through at any given throttle position, and also how well this fuel is atomised/vapourised which helps the burn.

Stage one is your run of the mill improvment, expect better throttle repsonse accross the rev range and perhaps a small hike midrange and up top. (talking 4stroke of course)

As you go up the ladder, stage 2, 3 etc this is for more heavily modified engines, head work done, increased compression, port work etc where the power strarts getting delivered in a much narrower rev range.
