Coming home tonight I was following another bike through New Cross and up Blackheath Hill, both making good progress though the traffic. Half way up the hill the traffic drops from 2 lanes to 1 and there was a bit of a log-jam up against a tiny traffic island marked with a keep-left sign. The guy in front went round the island the wrong way and so did I coz it's a pain in the arse holding it on the steep hill, but anyway next thing we know the pair of us get a tug by a copper on a bike. He was sitting in a little dead-end on the left out of sight.

The copper tells us both we're getting a £30 non-endorsable for ignoring the keep-right, which was fine by me. He gives the lad in front (zxr400) a ticket and a lecture, then the lad pulls off and he calls me over, gets out his folder - and he's run out of tickets Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Felt sorry for the lad in front though!

Hopefully guessing from the post that plod said he would let him off this time as Plod wouldn't have to send NIP through post as him saying something like "I am reporting you for ........." classes as a roadside issued NIP.

I went past there earlier and saw the bike cop at the top of the hill, past the junction parked on the left (gravelly hard-shoulder bit) with two bikes, one green.

Copper had his helmet off and seemed to be giving a talk, I'm guessing it was you then. Unlucky, I nearly always pop round the wrong side of that island. Will keep an eye out in future.

Yeah, green bike was the lad, black bike was me. You shoulda hoisted a minger mate might have both saved a ticket then Very Happy

TBH the copper was as sound as they come. No big attitude and gave the impression he cared about what he was doing.

Oh, and he hates car drivers - spotted one on the phone as he was just there with me and was off like a shot after him Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
