Skate-boards. Nasty hard little wheels scraping on concrete quickly followed by plywood hitting something hard. I loathe the bloody things, just what is the point of going ten feet and then loosing control of a plank of wood? Has any teen-sport made a less pleasant noise, ever? Evil or Very Mad

There is at least something natural and joyous in a happy child, we should have more happy children. Emos on planks though, what is natural and joyous in that?

The lawm mowers accompay the chainsaw and are relentless. Who the hell mos their grass in the rain at 8am? everyone here apparently! not one dam morning someone dosnt have strimmers, lawnmowers or some noisy piece of equipment out. why cant they just have parties instead and be normal!

My next door neighbours 1920's manual lawnmower, who insists on using at 7.15am twice a week.

I'm gonna mow his face off if he carries on doing it.

Man oh man... To many to mention but specifically, someone scratching paper with their fingernails... Noisy eaters, they need to have their lips sewn shut as a reminder for what they're for.

Some of you sound like you were never children yourselves!! Laughing

I hate the sound of other people eating, schlurping and lip-smacking...urgh.

The chav ped races up and down my street, my window is virtually on the pavement so it sounds like I have my ear next to the tinny, monotonous drone of their exhausts for 30 seconds each time they go past.

The building works we've had here at my office for the last 18 months, at times it sounds (and feels) like the drill is gonna pop up under my desk. I can here some grinding going on right now actually.

Doors slamming. And doors that click and rattle when windows are open, cause they don't quite close properly.

Thats it for now.

I really dislike background noise in general, as I don't have the ability to block it out. Really distracts me badly when I'm trying to concentrate.

Further-more, on the subject of babies...

I was in one of those awful toby carvery things not so long ago, sat down and from the other side of the room a baby starts up crying. I shit you not it sawed away for 30 minutes before it shut up, I know its supposed to be a family place but we were about 20 metres away from it, for those sitting next to the table, it must have loosened their fillings.

Personally, I'd favour banning babies from public places. People bring their's into the office to 'show off' and I can't understand why. The worst office dragons are reduced to blithering drooling cretins at the mere sight of one.

Erm... Humbug! Wink

Couldn't agree more, oddly enough, I've been vomited on more than once and it never bothered me (admittedly by kids so it doesn't really count.) But if someone is eating noisily next to me, I'm moved to violence.

Not only does it give me the boak, I think its the height of bad manners. (Seconded only by those selfish shitbags who know they snore yet still book into communal rooms at hostels, they deserve a severe beating.)

Thumbs Up

I'd much rather hear the noise of a skateboard being used as intended by a relatively disaffected but stable teenager than hearing the breaking noise of my car window by a very disaffected teenager wearing a hoodie and a baseball cap.

Skateboarding is one of the very few activities that takes teenagers interest, that keeps them fit, teaches them that hard work and talent are required to become good at something, teaches them balance and co-ordination, doesn't involve sitting in front of a computer or TV screen, involves socialisation with their peers and does not require the internet.

Skateboarding is a good thing.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
