It won't be genuine Suzuki engine, probably a replica made in China.

Suzuki make engines for Sachs, Cagiva, they doubtfully supply Chinese manufacturers.

It wont be a Suziki engine it will be a replica of one, normaly made using cheap parts and labour.

This in turn makes the bikes have a lot of problems tbh and which is why chinease bikes get such a slating.

Stay well and truly away from Chinese bike, the temptation to buy one is there because of the price, but you will be wasting every penny you spend on them. Save up a bit longer and get a jap bike.

I've got a feeling that Superbyke aren't chinese... I thought they were Yamaha rebranding but I can't remember now.

I'm getting old.

(edit} No, I'm wrong they are chinese. You can tell I'm getting old, I'll now admit when I'm wrong! Smile Who is it that are Yamaha under a different name then?

Just to point out, there is standing advice on this forum which says "Never buy a chinese motorcycle".

At least until they start making decent ones anyway.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

They're Chinese, at the top of the home page of their site it says:

Supplying the UK with Chinese Motorcycles and Scooters since 2001.
All of our Chinese motorcycles come with an excellent spare parts backup and warranty.
We only import high quality motorcycles from China and vigorously test all of our Chinese motorcycles to ensure excellent reliability and customer satisfaction.

It's well overpriced for a Chinese bike.

https://www.theinternetbikeshop.com/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=85

Compare it to that.

It really depends what you want it for, build quality on the Chinese bikes is not as good as the japs yet (although some of them are getting better, Sukida have a lot fewer problems these days) and they don't stand up too well to being thrashed or continual operator error.

If you want a bike that isn't expensive to buy and that you are pretty much able to afford to throw away when you've finished with it then a chinese one will probably do you. If you need some residual value when you want to re-sell get a couple-of-years-old jap instead.

I've got a Chinese bike, fair enough not done too many miles in the last 6 months or so but coming up to 2 years in December and its still A ok.

If you want a cheap bike then get a cheap bike just don't expect too much.

Theres a big band wagon, you're on it or you're off it with many people not even having owned or ridden one.

Look quick because it'll self destruct the second moisture comes in to contact with it.

They probably vacumn pack them to prevent the thing desolving.

Thanks for the advice.

I spoke to the company and its sellers and they have confirmed that its a Suzuki liceased engine which is made in China, Its the same engine as the DR125 and the GS125.

I'll try to get the number for Suzuki China and going to find out if this is true.

Wish me luck.

It's not the design that's the problem, it's the fact that it will probably be made from cheese, although, having said that, the engines are usually the best bits of the Chinese bikes, probably because the rest has collapsed before the engine has even bedded in.

All chinese bikes are copies of Japanese bikes. Its one of the reasons why they are so crappy.
