... but I'm putting this thread here anyway. I'll update it as and when I work on her, plan is to sort of do a rolling restoration and try and tidy her up a bit without taking her off the road- or spending much money, things will be done on an "as and when" basis.

For now I'm saving my money in case anything expensive goes wrong, plus I need to get the CG sorted out and sold, so for now just have a couple of photos:

Cafe racer time!

Although it does look really tidy as it is, doesn't look like much needs doing?

Panels aren't as good as they look, the tailpiece is buggered and doesn't sit straight, tank has a big dent in top right corner and the side panels are a bit scruffy. It's gonna be a cleanup project not a restoration really. I'll get a proper project bike again when the CG's gone, ain't got the room or money right now.

That said, it would make a nice cafe racer...

GS/GSX indicators were actually stolen from busses. Laughing

Apart from that, it looks good, If you fancy an exhaust change go for a kerker or a marshall deeptone, they both sound awesome on old school kit like that.

Cheers

stinkwheel Well I just had my hands up a pigs fanny. Which makes your concerns pale into insignificance.

That bike is the same year as i had back in 1979/80, mine was new and never let me down in the year i had it. I managed to put 12500 miles on it in six months and then sold it. They are great fun and will get you to about 105-110 mph. Have fun with it.-Jockey.

check the valve clearances and change the oil/filter regularly and you've a pretty bulletproof engine ...

if you decide to break it or crash it i'll be interested in some of it (got a project in mind Twisted Evil )
