Hi

What would be considered an average yearly milage in motorbike stakes??

Cars i'd say 10 - 12K but bikes I dunno

I have an offer of a fz6 04 plate with 20 000 on it and just wondered if it was a bargain at £1900

many thanks in advance

Average is probalbly about 3-4000 miles a year.

So that bike is only at 5k. If it's been well looked after there should be no problems.

3-3500 miles apparently,

In many insurance things I always see 1000-2000-3000-4000+.

Though that being an average is probably pulled up by dispatch riders , Kitty etc.

sort of like average wages , average is 24K, median is 17K.

Going by the prices on Biketrader £1900 looks a good price.

Since November I have done around 13000 miles, although this is going to drop a lot when I go to university.

I got told by insurance that average on a bike is 5000 miles per year, so 20000 on an 04 plate should be ok. Just make sure it looks like it has been well looked after - unlike my bike that is getting ridden to death Laughing

Must be all the summer sunday road warriors that bring it that low then. With just their trips to the local cafe and posing in the leathers Wink

My average is 9K and thats only with my commute which is around 190 miles a week. There is then any fun millage on top of that.

Before being married i could easily do 50 miles a day....

I would have expected the average biker to do more than your average car driver. So long as you take out all the ones who drive/ride for a living.

That all, 50 miles is just a trip to get an ice cream for me and that's without the ride back home Laughing I don't consider I have been for a bike ride unless I have done about 150 mile round trip Very Happy

I probably end up doing 10-13k a year that is a 35 mile round trip commute + weekend blasts.

Quite a lot of people have more than one bike, so while they might do X mileage per year, each of their bikes will do less.
