Decent digital camera?

Hi all,

Since my old Canon A520 Powershot has died on me I've been lost! Can't put anything on ebay and missing out on taking pics on my progress of my bikes. So I'm now in the market for a new digital camera and was wondering if you've got any recommendations on what models and where to buy? I'm a complete noob when it comes to technology

Here's a rough spec of what I need of a cam:

-Not too fragile (I've got the butter fingers)
-Can plug in to charge, akin to a mobile phone (not have to buy separate batteries i.e. AA's or AAA's)

I've got ~£100 to spend.
