i think it looks like a slippy, smooth floor rather than road surface, so i doubt it does much tyre wear. Seems quite a good idea in that situation.

Saw a guy moving bikes in DK when I took my NSR in for it's first service many, many moons ago. The sidestand idea has served me well ever since!
