If you carry a lock or other key on your key fob, it can/will scratch the yokes on your bike if it's left uncovered.

I've used a cable grommet (from Maplins I think) to cover this Abus disc lock key. Tried plastic tubing but it can be hard to remove with cold wet fingers. The grommet has a useful bit to pull on.

that's a really good idea Smile

i have to use a clippy thing - like the ones climbers use - but obviously much smaller. that way i can just un-clip my bike gear and the plasticy fob because i have 3 locks keys and a hosue key and a key for work - cant cover them all, and tend to need them all a lot of the time. it's deffinatley something to remember for the future though !
