https://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7613701.stm

I've been listening to this story develop during the day on the radio, does seem rather interesting. When I looked yesterday afternoon one person had spoken up against Brown and been sacked, by early afternoon there were 5 against him, currently there are 7.

Now this is 10% of the number needed to force a leadership election, but do you think there is the slightest chance that he may listen and call a general election, maybe let the public choose who gets to be in charge?

They couldn't get away with having another internal leadership election and appointing another PM without an election. This could get interesting. Something may actually happen.

It's funny how so many are convinced (or programmed to believe) there will be another general election.
The only way we can have another general election is if they can't find a way through the problem of the Irish NO vote.

A couple of years at the most. Still, look on the bright side - another 2 years of TOEPW[1] and NeuArbeit's scorched earth policies and the next election will have them hammered back to the Stone Age - or 3rd party status at least.

And then we can complain about the next lot in power. You can bet you won't see any of their manifesto promises being kept either, nor will they do much more than re-arrange the chairs in Westminster despite their promises to dismantle NeuArbeit's comfy little Stasi beaurocracy.

Aye, and the same career civil servants will be there running the show, politicians come and go but the structure remains the same.
