Finance and HPI Checks

Hello chaps,

Does anyone know how long it takes before an HPI Check would show as no finance owing after the payment has been made?

For example, say the remaining finance is paid off on Monday will it show up clear on the HPI then next day, next week etc?

If it makes any difference the finance is with Clydesdale Bank.

Not to sure how long it takes to show on the report for but when we used to take in part ex's at work we could phone the finance company and check it'd been paid off and have them fax proof before continuing with the deal.

I would've thought so, the owner would be present and if I remember rightly they had to give there permission for the finance company to give the info to you. The owner should have a letter within 5-7 days confirming that the finance has been paid also.
