OK here's a rough idea of price:

Anywhere between £50 and £600.

whilst you have been a bit vague, as the chaps have already said it depends on what you're having done i.e. major/minor and what that entails.

To be fair most services mean an oil and filter change at the minimum (£25-30). At 4000 miles you'll probably be looking at a new air filter (£10), but not necessarily new plugs(£7 each), they should last another 4000-8000 miles (depending on mfg schedule). Factor in checking nuts and bolts, cleaning brake calipers, checking and/or tensioning and lubing your chain, topping up all other fluids as necessary you're probably looking at £130 for a minor service (£40-50 p/hr labour). If the manufacturer considers it a major service inc. valve clearances, balancing throttle bodies and a change of plugs then you're looking at £250.

This is all approximate so give your dealer/mechanic a call first, or if it's a minor service do it yourself.

If you're taking it into town I'd avoid Robspeed. They spilt brake fluid on my fairing.

Petch's will be expensive on labour.

I go to Phantom in Barton. They were only £25/hr labour but he's in the process of moving to Scunthorpe at the moment.

There's a place in Church Street (GY) that I believe is ok but that's only hearsay.

Hmm. The most I've paid for a service was £400. That included Valve clearances on a four cylinder 600.

The most I've been quoted on the other hand was £650 for a 12000 mile service on my Buell XB12R. This was from a harley dealer. My local garage did the same work and it cost £300...

Do it yerself mate, its a peice of pi55!

I had the fairing off, oil and filter changed and fairing back on in less than an hour last night Cool

Sparkies this weekend, new BMC air filter on its way too.

Once you do it yourself for the first time, you'll never ever ever want to give some spanner monkey money to do it again. Thumbs Up

i would like to do it myself but am shit scared of doing things wrong. i would feel more confident if i was able to watch someone and then learn rather than look at a manual. but i do get you that once you have learnt how to open up an engine or whatever, you wouldn't want to pay anyone!

Cheers Lozzy you have cheered me up after a really bad night. The service may be off for a while due to me busting the RH bar tonight after a really bad mistake, so if anyone knows a place that sells Hyosung parts then karma and a few drinks are on me.

Cheers

If it is the first service usually it is just oil and filter and checking everything. They would probably lube control cables and adjust clutch/bleed brakes. Adjust chain etc. etc.

My 6000mile (first) service was £130 at a Triumph Main dealer.

Do it yourself unless you are worried about warranty, look in your handbook it should say when it needs servicing and what needs doing.

NB (first service not including the very first one Laughing i.e. 600/1000 miles)

Wemoto sell a few parts but not many, you could PM Sickpup, and try a search on eBay.

Admittedly I take mine to an independent mechanic, the local Suzuki dealers (Gloucester/Tewkesbury) wanted £365.
