I'm getting closer and closer to the moment of getting a big bike. Just put up my rs 125 for sale, hoping it'll get sold ASAP.
I'm on budget. If I wasn't I'd get a gsxr 600/750 from 2007, but that's not a possibility Sad
On track I've ridden and will continue to ride my friend's gsxr 600. It's from 2001 and has a full akra system, filter, short gearing etc, so pretty nippy. Almost power wheelies.
How boring would a cbr 600f be in comparison? I want a bike that can at least almost match the gsxr I ride...

I'm no expert, but unless you do the same gearing mods to the cbr then it's not really going to be comparable.

Riding a bike on the road isn't as exciting as riding one on track. You can't compare the two. If you ride a bike on the road like you do on the track then you're either slow on the track or you have a death wish.

The CBR would make a better road bike than the GSXR though IMO. It's as exciting as you want it to be, but when you aren't in the mood it'll get you home with no fuss.

what do you mean it almost power wheelies? i would imagine it would flip your ass back 50m if you wacked the throttle open and held it there.... Confused
on topic: hard to say, it wont be as quick, but i dont think that will bother you that much, i think your problem will be hating the suspension and brakes when rideing fast.

If the GSXR is heavily down geared then the stock CBR will have a higher top speed, depends what you mean by quick. Wink

If you hate the suspension, adjust it. The bike is pretty soft as standard but it's easy to stiffen it up loads. I used mine on track settings on the road for years, was fine.

Brakes on mine were brilliant, even before I fitted braided hoses folk who rode it used to comment on how good they were (dunno why, they just always seemed to be particularly effective).

A bike with 90 odd horsepower wont be boring, especially as your first full bike on the road. Road riding is so much different to track dude.

By powerwheelie I mean smooth ones. If I whack it open then indeed it wheelies even in 2nd and maybe 3rd gear
