Ok, filled up with petrol and added some Redex One Shot for carbs to give the fuel system a clean through. Was riding the bike up a slip road and was in 3rd pushing the revs, not redline though, and all of a sudden BANG!!!! The bang came from around the cylinder head/barrel area and sounded like metal hitting metal with some force. Didn't do it again after that and the bike was ok.

Anyone got any idea what this may have been cos I havn't a clue Embarassed

For info incase it's relevant, I've done about 300 miles on the bike siince I got it and don't know when the last top end rebuild was done and neither does the previous owner but not sure how many miles he'd done it either Rolling Eyes

You sure it wasnt just a back fire?

If too much fuel goes into the engine and ends up in the hot exhaust it explodes with a nice bang.

CG did it if i was riding it fast, or as fast as you can ride a CG anyway. Smile

Surely I would of seen that fall off Laughing FFS you guys crack me up!

No, seriously it did sound like a physical contact bang, but as the bike was running ok afterwards I'm not sure?????? Confused
