I have the 08 gixxer 750 with an aftermarket exhaust and it's great. I opted for it over the 1000 because of the difference in weight.

You sure can't go wrong with any of the GSXR's. Wink

Yeah, I'm sure you took the original shock well past its operational capability in the hardcore workout that you must have given it in your test ride. Rolling Eyes

15 - 20 lbs made a big difference to me when I sat on them. I'm 5' 2.5" tall and 120 lbs so I'm not the biggest person around.

The 750 fits me well, and after removing the stock exhaust and putting on a Yoshi R55 full system, I lost about 15 lbs from that. Wink

didn't say that....

Ohlins gives you more confidence/feedback to push it harder....

but what would i know...

How about a K-Tech, Wilbers or WP rear shock? Would they be not as good? You're chucking a brand name about without support for the reasoning behind it, implying that you are sensitive enough to descern weaknesses in the stock suspension which the aftermarket shock would improve.

If you are going to levy such criticisms at the standard unit, at least describe them a bit more and compare to your experiences in similar situations with an Ohlins unit.
