does anyone know if they have any sun protection properties?

reason i ask is since changing to a race visors black visor i find i seem to suffer from exposure when out for a while.

i never had this problem when using the clear original, (i didn't even wear sun glasses with it either)

both have the shoei pinlock in place.

I don't think they have any UV protection - not found any stickers or writing that says so.

I use a clear and light tint Shoei visors depending on weather etc and have not had any problems.

Maybe your lid's a bit tight and giving you a headache?

I have a MultiTec, it came with both clear and tinted visors, i use both with no problem, i have no idea about UV protection, head is grateful for any sun it gets under the lid all the time...

Polycarbonate visors will give around 99% UV protection. Just the same as any plastic spectacle lens will.

Even a clear visor does not let 100% of the light through, will be down about 88% of avaiable light paaing through.

Just what do you mean by exposure ??

If its giving you headaches i would guess that its too dark and you are straining your eyes to see, and when you lift it up they can't react to the change of intensity of light fast enough, so are cauing you to squint your eyes up to cut the light level down.

exposure in the same sense as i have felt wind burn/sun burn when standing about in fields watching motorsport before.

must try with a clear again to see how i feel.

So you won't be wearing you helmet then when watching.......

If you have your helmet on, then its more likely to be the heat that has built up inside that causes the problem.....

Clear or dark will have the same UV properties of at least 99% UV protection, as it the nature of the material they are made out of.
