The other day I went for a hoon. Got to a friend's house, and when I looked at the back of the bike the undertray had fallen off. Suprisingly (Given the speeds I had just reached), the undertray was just sitting there on the hugger ! Shocked The number plate which was taped on to the undertray was missing though. Ended up leaving the bike at my friend's house as I didn't fancy getting pulled again.

Very very lucky that it hadn't flirted off and hit a following vehicle really.

Anyone else had an unusual "missing parts" fiasco ?

Just bolts an stuff tbh, once my mate stacked his CBR400 like a complete tool and didnt check his pannels after i told him 50 times to and a whole fairing of the side flew off an hit a car behind him on the motorway.
And his tyre blew up after i told him again so many times to change it, does that count?

I had my big Abus chain fall out of my cargo net. Realised I had lost it when I got home, so retraced my steps and found it lying in the middle of a busy road at rush hour. I ran over and picked it up. It had been run over quite a few times, the plastic end piece was smashed off, and the material that encases the chain had lots of tears in, but it still works well.

Going to my mates house last week, put everything back correctly except the clip that holds the pin which holds the pads in.
I heard a clunk, looked back and saw two pads and shrapnel flying all over the place. Shocked

Managed to lose the entire contents of a backpack on my ride back from college one time. I had carefully zipped it up but the zips had decided they had other plans. got most of my stuff back but lost a brand new hoodie (no idea where it went!). The bag was promptly returned to the shop as it was only a month old Rolling Eyes I've been very paranoid about backpacks since then...pockets too!

Another time i managed to lose a chain on the vfr... riding along the fosse way i suddenly lost drive completely. After pulling up at the side of the road completely confused a car pulls up beside me with a wing mirror missing, the driver then tells me (whilst looking suitably pale) that it just flew past his car and took out his wing mirror as I overtook him... I now thoroughly check my chain before riding... Embarassed

Scottoiler dual injector fell off on the M4. It got run over. Sad

My right side bar end fell off somewhere round Snetterton. The vibrations were annoying me so like a genius I took the left one off and fitted it on the right. Which promptly fell off too. Rolling Eyes

Lost the cap of the quick-release fuel cap on G's 675 round Brands but went out at lunchtime to poke through the gravel and managed to find it.

The trike is a hardtail and the vibration at speed has a tendancy to unscrew things like the lefthand inidcator, or the lefthand silencer which I lost somewhere on a 80 mile hoon without noticing.

Once while I was giving it some beans my exhaust can fired off and got lodged into a fence, took me half an hour to find it, the sound of my bike at 10k revs with no exhaust is deafening, shortly after I fitted a very big bracket

The Baffle in my RXS has fired out a few time after I lost the bolt, I dropped a 2 litre glass jug of cider of the back of my bike which I'm fairly sure hit a car. I have also lost my GIVI box of the back doing about 50mph, I'm not a sure how but it was ok they are solidly made those things. I lost a bottle of oil of the back of my RXS too. I also lost my 3 hour old Nokia N95 8gb off the bike, because I pulled the headphone wire while doing my jacket up at 70 (it is clipped onto by bars)

I think that is about it. Laughing

Lost the cover off my bike whilst trailering it down the A1, no idea where that went, it's probably still roaming the fields.

On the way to one rally last summer, my bar end bounced off on the York outer ring road. Mates who were behind me saw it bounce up off the tarmac like a mofo. Unsure if it hit anything...Shifty

Month or so later, another rally, rode 100 miles to meet with mates and discovered one R&G had removed itself on th M1.

Rode on to the rally, back 120 miles home.

Then discovered that the R&G bung bolt for the CBR400 replaces an engine mounting bolt Shocked

Shocked

Oh, and the CB threw a mirror off on the M62 back in March.

These days, I tend to overtighten things as a habit... Laughing

I lost my tool kit from under the seat going round a round about.

D&G glass popped out of my pocket and smashed on the road at 90+, damn expensive mistake!

Aye, my grandad did that once, his mate was trying to hold 2 tennis rackets, and a tube of tennis balls at the time. He pulled away from the lights rather briskly leaving his mate in the road on his arse.

This was back when the world was still in black and white.

To reset the balance of the universe I fell off the back of a BSA Rocket 3, the owner told me to hang on and I did in first. I relaxed for second and he gave it some beans.
