Ok, after setting the valve timing i had the bike running quite nicely at idle, although the right cylinders plug was very coked up, and the left plug came out wet.

So im guessing thats an electrical issue because the plugs both spark strongly when outside the cylinder, and i dont think my coils are to blame although im going to swap them over and have a check.

Anyway, today i had to bump the bike to start it, low battery charged it up, good spark, and it wouldnt run. Wehn it did run before hand (when i bumped it) if i touched the throttle the bike would bog very badly until it stalled and wouldnt run.

What would you suggest i do other than bin the bike?

Gs500e btw!

check the carbs are not flooding and just because a plug sparks outside the cylinder it doesnt mean it will spark under pressure. ive had that more than a few times.
try a new set first Thumbs Up

float height and needle valve for wear.

basically remove the carbs, hold them level, turn the fuel on and wait a couple of minutes to see if fuel starts leaking out of the overflow or either end of the carb.

still try new plugs first though, always a good start (no pun intended) lol
