Right, my bike is decivly dodgy, and seems to be having fuel problems. Thinking about how I put petrol into it, and where its kept first (jerry cans) I thought this might be the case. Looking at the petrol has confirmed this, which can be seen in these pictures.... www.okas.co.uk/stuff/petrol/

Having establied that this is not a good way of fueling my bike, I am not doing it anymore.

But it now has a range of shit in it. I therefore got me some petrol treatment stuff, which claims to cleans engine and all that stuff. Put it in at a petrol station on my way home, and as i went on, bike seems to be getting better. Does anyone have any comments/ experience/ useful knowledge etc about using these. I am using one called "Redex Petrol Treatment" which is a liquid, which I add 10ml to every 10litres of petrol.

cheers Smile

if you have an inline fuel filter I suggest you look at that rather than adding that fuel addative stuff

the addative helps remove gum deposits etc, not remove big F off flakes of crap (thats what the fuel filter is for!)

if you dont have a filter I suggest looking at the float bowls on the carbs and cleaning them as thats where most of that crap and sediment will be sat!

There is one under the banjo shaped cover on the side of the carb where the petrol pipe connects

All the best

We have these things over here, petrol stations I think they're called. Most offer ride in / ride out service so you can pick up your petrol and have it fitted to the bike there and then - no more waiting at home for it to be delivered. Great stuff - you should try it Wink

Seriously though, what's with the stash of fuel? Have you knocked off a tanker or something?

Nope. There is petrol at home, which isnt paid for by me, therefore in an effort to keep my bike costs down, I put it in my bike Smile
