Hi all,

Been looking at a 1993 ktm300exc and just wondered if these bikes use the same motor as the new ktm300exc's???

If not/so, what are they like to ride?? Would they make a good greenlaner?

The bike looks similar to the one in this link: https://www.bikepics.com/pictures/1201588/

Thanks,
Jack

Very, very much doubt they use the same engine - been a fair bit of development, with the latest ones having electric start, etc.

Providing it's pretty cheap, should make a fine green laner. I used to have a 1987 350cc KTM Enduro 2 stroke and while it would give a serious kick when it got to the power-band, you could still ride it fairly sedately if you wanted.
Nice and light weight and I didn't tax the suspension, so being pretty old didn't matter.

So, providing it's cheap and in good nick, go for it.

Ta for that G.

Yea, its a fairly cheap and got 12months MOT with receipts for recent parts bought (probably to get it through its MOT).

My only worry is parts availability, will I struggle due to the age of the bike for things like engine internals???

Where can I go to find parts for it???

Ta,
Jack

KTM are usually fairly good in keeping parts available - so your local KTM dealer should be your first stop.

How cheap is cheap, for a one of these with 12months MOT and a load of new parts recently fitted?

Assuming that the motor/chassis/suspension is good etc???

Ta,
Jack
