not 100% sure on this but i think you can blow your head gaskets. If its only slightly overfilled then i wouldn't worry much but if its a significant amount get a tube and a syringe and drain some out.

If you don't have a tube and syringe at hand, undo the sump plug, and drain some of the oil out then put the plug back in and check the level. Then use the oil you drained out to top it back up if you drain too much out.

You could blow the piston rings, which would mean loss of compression and nasty deposits in the cylinder too.

Also, if the rings blow and too much oil gets into the cylinder it can mean a hydrolock, which is bad news (bent valves, conrod etc).

Worth it for 5 minutes of a job?

my mate did this on his zx6r, was going down the motorway and kept getting huge big clouds of smoke Smile

as soon as he got home he drained a bit out and all was fine - no engine damage or anything, but he didnt do that many miles.

I would worry about it to much, make it sound good at least but any gains would be minimal.

As you have from what i can assume a half decent can there wont be much in the way of loss compression, its more if you fabricate you own can with no packing etc that you will notice compression loss.

there will be no loss of compression but a loss of back pressure.
depends how restrictive the baffle is in the first place to cause any problems.

suck it and see, you will soon feel if it's not running right but my guess would be a slight loss of umph. more noise is not necessarily faster.
