So whos restricted and whos restricted?

Have you ever been caught.

This is for my interest so don't want others flaming people etc please.

Cheers

Never been restricted, neither have all my mates, 3 of which have all been knocked off, and nothing said about restriction when it comes to insurance.

Thumbs Up

It's so bloody tempting.

Was overtaking this car today about 200yards after a roundabout.

I went to overtake he accelerated alot! I still got past but took a lot longer than i would like...

Still gets to 70 in a decent time but i don't get much of a thrill.

I know i'll learn to corner faster and i can feel that i'm getting better every time i take it out.

I've been a pillion on my step dads blackbird and that's bloody fast lol.

That's the only things that putting me of is ofc getting caught. Although i wouldn't be going about doing 120+ speeds ( when the police are about Rolling Eyes (joke)

At the minute I'm still 'supposedly' 30 mph restricted. Wink

I am in two minds whether to 33bhp.

Think I'll 33bhp on the road and the of course take them out for track days if I do one Thumbs Up

Praying please edit that to say 550 or you'll set him off Very Happy

I'm planning on getting a throttle stop made up for the FZR when I have some free time, but I really don't like the way FI do business, and refuse to give them money (well maybe not the company themselves, but they've managed to get many many dealerships and local shops convinced of utter bollocks, which annoys me)

I laughed at this.

Is it all Japanese bikes that are restricted to 186?

Do 'busas need a new ECU to take it over 200?

The japanese have a so called "gentle-mans agreement" to restrict all road vehicles to 186mph. Something to do with being "self regulating".

And the Busa doesn't need a new ECU, but it does need some fiddling to bypass the limiter...

I don't ride anymore (bad accident, was only doing 45mph-ish and yes i was restricted) and i was restricted all the time.

I got used to the top speed, acceleration etc after about a week but i found the biggest thrill was accelerating hard between corners on the twisty roads....cranking it right over and soiling myself following stiffler on his zx6r Laughing

I was tempted to take the restrictors out to see what it was like but it topped out at 110mph with my head on the tank (i wasn't exactly small then) and aparently it topped out at around 120 full power (bandit 400) so didn't see the need. Still accelerated to around 80 fairly quickly.

It would be sods law i'd get nicked, loose my license and then loose my job so i personally wouldn't risk it...you don't know what could happen.

your right and i agree...

It's just lots of people do it and i kinda want to Rolling Eyes

I know it's wrong but the chances of getting caught are so small?

As they would have to spot me doing 120+ and take my bike and dyno it surely to tell?

Sorry to hear about your accident - are you unable to ride or choose not to?

I'm still restricted and will be for my remaining 12 weeks 4 days. Wohoo!! I'm riding a cbf600s... I'm sure it pulls 90 in short order Wink

My mate had an off on a dual carriage way riding a thundercat, the police asked for his certificate, he didn't have one (full power) they took him to court and he got 6 points for it.... Lucky for him he had a car for a year before getting a bike so he didn't lose his license.

Laughing

Yeah it does, new it's just under 50bhp. Actually it's probably not far off 33bhp now Sad

And I get a bit anal when people think I have a GS500 Very Happy

It's not a boring topic, it's just it was covered not that far back. Several times.

I would have to get kliktronic gears if i wanted to ride a bike again....and when you have broken your back, leg, 4 ribs, collapsed lung, ruptured spleen, laseration to the liver and torn bowels....you think hard about riding again or not.

Anyway, thats my business and no one on here is going to influence me or not.

The chances of getting caught are just the same as getting caught of comitting murder. If the evidence is there then they will catch you (ie - doing 120+ or whatever).

The thing is, if they suspect you to be riding an unrestricted bike, they can confiscate your bike there and then, leaving you stranded and then you have to pay the storage fees, recovery fees and probably a dyno fee aswell.

Do you want to risk your license?
