California License in the UK.

Here's a license question for you all..
I've just moved back to the UK from the USA, and have a California motorbike license - been riding "big" bikes for around 12 years. I think this is valid for 12 months now I'm back in the UK (I have had a full UK car license since 1990)

What the most direct way to get a UK motorbike license? Do I need a CBT? Can I turn up on my unrestricted ZZr600 for the test?

Try sending the Cal licence in for a straight swap for a UK full bike entitlement.

The good news - you have an older UK licence as well as an International so you will not have to do the theory test.

If you are on your Cali M ticket then you will just need to take the test - on a bike with a power output of more than 35kW

No CBT required or anything, while your international licence is valid though, or you will revert to learner status and have the take a CBT, ride with an instructor to the test centre etc etc.
