Starter motor has gone on a Varadero 125 I am interested in. They guy who is looking to sell has been given a £400 quote for the work so he wants rid. Does anyone know the part number for the starter motor? And does anyone know if the item would be interchangeable?

Cheers

Sam.

This might be of help actually ?

Varadero 125's are expensive bikes, I think my dad paid just over £2k for his (04 plate, 1 owner).

I'll have a look and see if he has a parts diagram when i finish work.

£400?!?. Take the bloody thing apart, clean up the contacts and make sure the brushes are moving freely, then put it back together again. Just did that with mine, works a treat now, and I'd never touched anything mechanical in my life before that. Besides, if it doesn't work...well, it's already broken, right?

Have a google, there's loads of articles and even a Youtube vid on how to fix a starter motor.

Dont insult me ya bastards. He wants rid because he is moving to Gran Canaria. He wants £500 for it, and that is all because he has been quoted so much for a starter motor. We all know the powers of ebay. And I think if I buy this for £400 (haggle the day before he goes) Then I can fix, and following that I can sell or use for winter.

I just didnt want to go into that much detail in the first place. They seem to fetch a good £1200 for the aged bike I will be getting!
