Making yourself legal is not a stupid idea
It will not damage the bike in anyway
What the majority of people seem to do is restrict it for a while (6 months say) Then take the restictors out once your used to the power and wanta bit more |

No, its incredibly sensible.
Jay12329 had a 33bhp Hornet and he really got on well with it. Its certainly not as sharp or unforgiving as something like a GSXR600, and IMO along with stuff like the SV650 is an ideal first 'big' bike.

I've had a restricted 33bhp CB500, CBF600S and a CBR600F - all of these kinds of bikes restrict pretty darn well to be honest. The two 600's pull and easy 90 on the motorway (albeit after like 15 seconds of waiting XD) and at least you'll get a decent fuel economy!
Carole Nash give a hefty discount if you tell them you've got a 33bhp restrictor kit My premium dropped from £700 to £600 when i said "oh, it's restricted"  |
