I drained and removed the tank, removed the fuel tap, took it apart and replaced the bits that were in my pattern fuel tap repair kit from wemoto (although there was one bit in the kit that bore no resemblance to anything in my tap).

Then put it all back together, fitted the fuel tank and put some fuel in it. Set to prime and there is a nice steady stream of fuel coming from the tank (as you would expect) - but set to either 'on' or 'reserve', and the flow does not stop completely. There is enough of a flow for a drip every half a second or so. It's pretty much the same as it was before I started so it seems my new bits made no difference at all.

Any ideas? Cheers!

I would have thought when being " On" or " Reserve" you would have a flow but when on "off" you wouldn't?

It's the vacuum type, only has prime, on or reserve. In prime it should flow freely even when not running but in the other two settings it should need the engine running to flow.
