XT660X

Im taking my bike test soon to get rid of my L plates on my DT125RE, i want to upgrade to a bigger bike shortly after my test. Ive been looking at a XT660X,
i want like a supermoto bike looking at things like the DR-Z400 SM and xt

Dose the xt660 work well with a restrictor in it. and how dose it feel sitting at 80 on the motorway? want something to commute to work 10 miles in london daily and then go to see my dad, whos half way up the m1

Hmm, my mate at work has just bought an XT660R, and let me ride it last week. I thought it was a cracking bike for a single, I'd previously ridden the DR650/XF650. The XT660 has an excellent engine, and enough power for an overtake on NSL roads, and I never got it into 5th gear. My mate commutes 10 miles up and down the M5 at 65-70mph and gets 70mpg approx. The 'R' is a very tall bike with a 21" front wheel and there were times when it felt as though I was going over the bars, and/or would run wide in the bends but on an 'X' with 17" wheels you'll not have those issues. On the downside I felt the seat was too narrow and too hard for my tender little bottom, but my commute is 40 miles so that would only be an issue over those distances.

Restriction shouldn't really be an issue but check with the dealer first, there's a good review on MCN
