3rd Class to Nice?

Just thought some might find this interesting/amusing, work is mostly dull, and I snap mostly geeky transport related photos to pass the spare minutes.

This rolled into our yard today, making a delivery, bit of an interesting load. He had apparently dropped the bikes down to Nice the previous week for a biking holiday.

Just occured to me as a slightly odd way to go, bikes on a flatbed truck, not sure it would be my first transport chocie, but giving them a bit of a waggle it was clear they werent going anywhere, driver said it took him just shy of 2 hours to get them all on and strapped down secure enough.

Interestingly enough both the blades and the buell were stacked over the course of the week, and just about fit for salvage.

He strapped the bikes on better than that pallet any way !
Doesn't look safe IMO, maybe he used all the straps on the bikes and didn't have any left?

Maybe they didn't want to do 100s of motorway miles and they wouldn't have been able to ride back anyway since 3 of them binned it.

Wimps, my old man rode to hungary and back, nurburgring on the way there and back and the hungaroring there
