Right my master cylinder has gone kaput.

So ive decieded i should look for a kit to rebuild it, as the master cyliner is 120 pounds from peugeot and no one has a spare cylinder.
Should i be looking for the piston size to match?
or
Should i be looking for the diameter of the master cylinder to match?

Im guessing just the seal inside if broked as it made loads of brake fluid run down the pipe and cylinder onto my leg..

So will

those parts be enough to rebuild it?
as im not sure what the feck the parts in the pic even are Laughing

From top left to bottom right;

Circlip: this holds the piston in place within the master cylinder.

Dust seal: this is the rubber you can see on the outside of the cylinder.

Piston: That's what pushes the fluid, the two rubber seals are what most have gone on your old one.

Spring: this goes in before the piston, to push back the piston after it's compressed the fluid in order to brake.

Yes, that lot should be enough to rebuild it, but i don't really understand your first questions. Can't you just tell whoever what bike you've got and then ask for a master cylinder repair kit for it?
Confused

Being a peugeot no one knows.
The local shops didnt even know who made the caliphers, there made by AJP. the gold ones.

And all the local shops say the only option is to buy from peugeot as they dont know/cant get the spec, and pug dont do a repair kit its new cylinder for 120 quid.

So ive found out the size etc and getting my local bike mechanic to rebuild it as i have no clue, but he said ill have to buy the parts to do it...

and back to one of the first questions what size repair kit am i getting the piston size or the cylinder size?
