Is this a good trade?

I am considering trading a 2000 Nsr non runner top end of the engine has melted for a 1989 kawasaki kx which is working fine.
Is this a good trade? I can easily make it road legal by changing the tyres and i want a bike that i can take offroad as well. heres a picture of the kx

Is it fuck worth it, the kx is worth about £300 max thats if its tidy, you would be able to brake your bike for spares and get more than that,

You can pick up post 2000 motocross bikes for about £600 (if you scout around) nowadays, my friend sold his 2003 kx not long ago for £800 that was fairly tidy apart from a repaired hole in the expansion chamber.

Please stop using the phrase "melted piston" its fucking retarded. Work out whats wrong with it properly, it isn't hard. Hell bring it to Saint Judes and I'll tell you whats wrong with it and how much to fix.

I'm willing to bet the KX cant be put on the road with a new set of tyres, for one you'd have 50 quid for tax and test, and thats assuming it was originally road reg'd and has a V5, and has not been declared scrap or stolen down the line.

the insurance may i add is dirt cheap as i went on gocompare and got quoted at £306 even with 3 points. the guy is going to write me a list of things that will make it road legal. I know the bike is old but its recently had an engine rebuild been ran in its also haad new piston rings but how much would it cost to have an engine rebuild every time? i'm not planning on riding it religously but i do intend to commute to college on it

i've seen these kx's go for around the £500 mark.

NSR - road biased stroker. Not in a hairy state of tune. Automatic oiling, electrical starting.

KX - Racing 2T. Mental state of tune. Premix. Full on crossers soon grate whe ridden on the road.
