Yes, I know it's a bike forum but hey, don't read the thread if you find it boring.

I know there's a lot of young chaps on here with peds. My brother wants to get a ped now, and it's been a few years since I had mine so I'm out of touch with current prices.

He wants to get the fastest one obviously, and when I had mine NRG's seemed to be the fastest. What's a rough price to pay for those? A few on eBay seem to be going for around £500, on 04 plate. That sound about right?

Seems cheap!

Thanks in advance Thumbs Up

Yamaha slider ftw!

Mate with a ZX10 bought one, he ended up riding the scoot more because its so funny to ride, itll do about 50 mph but its the best stunt scoot you could want.

That is a seriously sexy ped, if such a thing exists Smile

Aerox's and Speedfights are popular, generally reliable and some of the fastest 'peds you can get.. the condition is the main issue though - if you consider the previous owners, unless you're lucky then its probably been chucked down the road at some point.

That ped actually looks cool Shocked

Yeah I know most of the main ones, tbh any of them will be decent enough if treated well.

It makes me laugh on one of the listings, he says it's got damage because his son didn't realise the width of a space or something, and it's blatently been down the road. Are people that stupid Confused

Problem with geared 50s now is the newer ones are slow as feck and the older ones are generally falling apart so there's a high chance of buying a shitter.

I'd say buy Chives' ped Thumbs Up

The majority of the ones I know (about 25 off the forums) spend more time off the road than on it.

Mines also for sale, ill let it go for £650 ( Wink ). Erm,dont get a speedshite, nrgs arent the quickest, and i wouldnt get an aerox. Id go for a ZIP SP personally or a Typhoon. So easy to work on,parts are easy to be had,and there cheap. With a pipe and de restricted it will manage a true 45mph and may even touch 50 (my mate got caught by oldbill doing 54 and all he had was a pipe Laughing ). Hope this helps. Thumbs Up

New riders tend to fall off things. Therefore IMO not worth paying a lot for something that's going to be dropped.

However, when dropped stuff like the plastics will snap/break and replacements cost more than the 'ped's probably worth. So either live with that or try for something with metal bits like a Vespa that can be bent back into shape.

Downside is they cost more than the plastic stuff but do hold their value better for resale.

Thumbs Up

Yeah its stamped MBK all over it, we just put a jack up kit and side stand on it, aswell as a bottom end Polini 70 kit, it's the most gangsta' stunt scoot you could want. Laughing

I said about more maintenance because you have a chain to look after etc.

The only time I ever did anything to my ped was when I crashed it, good old Neos, reliable as hell Cool

I do agree, but obviously he wants one that looks nice, still going to be his pride and joy!

Plastics can be fibreglassed etc, quick spray job.

Not sure on his budget yet Rezzin, but will let you know if he's interested.

ms51ves3 what ped do you have and how much do you want?

if you want reilabilty go for a piaggio , nrgs are nice and they are fast(for a ped lol) , the lc version has the same engine the gilera runner has and all the chavs rave about runners being the fastest

yeah the sliders a good stunt bike , they wheelie easily on a stock setup and there yamaha so are good build quality

personally id go for a zip , small , light , short wheelbase , and tiny wheels make for a wheelie machine lol and being piaggio powered there nice and reliable , oh yeah and also spares are massivley avaliable of ebay , most engine parts from nrgs , runners , typhoons , skps , ices etc fit because there all based around the same engine, the only differnces being between ac and lc models

say no to frenchy speedshites, the one arm suspension is wank , would you shag a bird with one leg ? i rest my case lol

Chives' 'ped is really comfy, and the acceleration was definitely nothing to be ashamed of (though I only took it across a car park!). Looks nice aswell, bargain at £400.

From what ive heard off my friends, and also from peugeot, the Peugeot Ludix blast is the fastest accelerating 50cc 'ped there is. Know someone who had one that said it could get to about 50 when de-restricted too so not too bad.
