Some Mercs have had a top speed limiter for a few years now that you can set via the dash. Can't remember if you could prevent others from changing it though.

Great, the twats who are likely to drive cars twatishly no longer will be able to, so they will get bikes and push up our insurance even more Mad

Don't be silly, they just won't drive mummy and daddy's car. They'll buy old cars that don't have it fitted.

From what I've discovered people don't want bikes at a young age because bikes are cold (in winter), have no boot and they can't play 'taxi' to all their friends. That's how it seems at my college anyway.

Because playing taxi is a good thing Confused ? I think most people our age don't really consider it, they just have it in their heads that they are getting a car and that's it.

I never said playing taxi was a good thing but I'm not joking, a lot of people use the fact that they have 5 seats as a positive of getting a car Laughing

Most people our age are just foolish. I'll save my money until car insurance is actually at a reasonable price Cool

Would doubt it, and I would also expect bike sales to suffer rather more than car sales in a big slump. Also expect 2nd hand car prices to pick up as with falling new car sales there will be more people seeking 2nd hand cars and yet a smaller supply.

Completely unrelated question: How come 'agreeing' is spelt like that? Why isn't it i before e except after c Confused Unless it isn't spelt like that...

Probably because 'ing' is a suffix. I before E except after C only applies to the body of a word and not to the prefixes or suffixes (I think).

Nice try, but when you add 'ing' to a word you normally drop the e on the end (e.g. "I'm just coming" not "I'm just comeing"). Hmm Thinking

I certainly read somewhere that sales of peds and 125s had increased in the past couple of years (probably due to fuel prices). Not sure what's happened in the past couple of months though - I'd imagine that sales of bigger bikes in particular would be down as quite a few are bought as toys.
