Ive got an Ibanez guitar that Ive had for years. Its nothing amazing but I like it! Its been sat in a room for a good six months and there have been some condensation issues, so its in a bad shape. Im about to strip it down, replace the strings, clean it up etc and the thought has just hit me that I might like to change the pickups.

Now this is where Im lost, I need a double or a humbucker at the bridge and two singles. Im not after the worlds best pickups but something middle of the road. I like to play heavier stuff like the foos but also the more plinky stuff from time to time.

Anyone got any ideas? Which manufacturers to look at?

Anyway here is the poor thing...

EMG 81's (purely from memory) are the ones I think are the showstoppers IIRC.

Cheers lads, was thinking a belter humbucker and some fairly standard single pickups as the one son now are tatty. Will go look for both of those and see what the crack is! Thumbs Up

Just to confuse you even more...

Dimarzio Super Distortion. I have one on my Ibanez and it rocks through my Epiphone valve junior and a tubescreamer.

EMG 81's are awesome, i have one of those and and '85 on my explorer.
However, Bareknuckle pick ups are worth a look too. A mate of mine has a Gibson les paul with their 'nailbomb' pick ups fitted and they are really really cool Thumbs Up
