HI guys and girls,
just a minute ago my alarm started to beep as if someone just sat on it. i ran out there and didnt find the bike or garden disturbed.

this has happened once before and my alarm is really sensitive has anyone else experienced the alarm going off like this to find nothing there. my garden is pretty well sheltered so it couldnt of been the wind, not that there is much at the moment.

or i could have very persistent thief on my case

cheers

I dont have a datatool alarm,

I have one of those cheap Lidl/Aldi Alarmed Disc Locks...

And my bike is within earshot, It gives 3 warning beeps and if you keep fiddling the alarm goes off, so whenever i hear the beeps i rush to my window and there is never anyone there, I assume its the wind/cat.

Or, as i put the lock on right after a ride there is the possibility that it is the discs cooling down and moving slightly...

I have heard that if a datatool alarm isnt installed properly they do what you say all the time and run batterys flat.

Hi, I've got the installation instructions for this alarm, there is a wire that you can earth to de-sensitise the motion trigger. PM me an email address and I'll send you a copy.

I'd be interested in a copy of that if you could send it to me too please.

My Datatool 3 is over sensitive, and when I rode France/Spain earlier in the year it was bleeping whilst I was riding, but not done it since I got back.

I'll send you my email by PM if you could be so kind! Thumbs Up

i have the same problem on my datatool system 3. it is very sensative but i am happy overall since there have been times when it goes off persistently and then i get annoyed and run out and see a bunch of chavs running away.
