to start off, i have just bought an NSR125r and im new to biking, dont really know much apart from how to ride really.

anyway, the issue at hand is, having sat on my nsr, i find that i cant get comftable holding the handle bars as they are in quite a tight V. the only other bike i have ridden being a 2005 yamaha YBR125 (bit like the CG125) and those are quite wide.

now, yes i might get used to it and just live with it, but what i want to know, is can i get aftermarket bars to widen the V so its a bit more comftable or can i just adjust them to a bit wider??

i am unsure if this is
1] viable on a budget
or
2] will work as it will increase the lock.

any advice is muchly appresiated Smile

Are the handlebars formed into the top yolk or are they bolted onto the forkleg?

IF the latter than you could try just loosening the bolt and twisting them round a little bit to increase the angle between the two.

It shouldn't affect the amount of lock no matter what bars you use or how they are set, as the lock stops aren't affected by the bars.

If you want straight/normal bars then you can get risers that are designed for yolks with clipons (popular with the stunters), and wider bars will make low speed riding a lot easier and town riding inparticular....just remember your bars are wider when you start filtering Laughing

I'm not sure there is much you can do with them to be honest, well I'm not sure how it would look if you put some straight bars on the yoke.

I couldn't get used to mine at first but over a couple of weeks I got more and more used to the riding position, just give it a bit of time and you might get used to it too.
