Yes yes this is a bike forum , but I have severe aninosity towards my GP and its not really possible to book an appointment with him for the next 3 weeks, so BCF amatuer doctor types I seek your advice.

Anyway when I am in the UK I seem to permanantly have a cold ie sneezing especially when I wake up I have a prelonged sneezing bought ,runny nose slight cough and sound/feel kind of rougher.

But , whenever I go somewhere warmer either on hols or a sort of working vacation as recently when its 25C+ , all those symptoms vanish and I feel completely fine , al la Spain and Asia recently wake up sans aircon in a pool of yours sweat but feel quite good.

Anybody hazard to guess whats up?.

Do you have any allergies?

I have hayfever and have similar symptoms on high pollen count days.

Hi

Sounds like an allergy to me as well.

You could try some generic anti allergy tablets and see if the problem stops. Quick word with a pharmacist should get you something suitable.

If that is the problem then finding what triggers it is more of an issue. Try making sure the room is very well hoovered, fresh sheets, etc. Also try changing to a different soap. Different shampoo. Try cutting out a few foods.

For me I get what I always assumed was hay fever for years. Turns out that what triggers it with me is most soaps (use cold tar soap and the issue 95% disappears).

All the best

Keith

+1 for the whole allergy thing.

I used to have something similar when I was living at home all the time. Moved away to uni where everything was about 100x dustier etc and suddenly I didn't have the problem anymore. Turns out I'm pretty allergic to dog dandruff (had some allergy tests done a few years ago for something unrelated) and seeing as we have a dog at home this was what was causing it.

Yeah, what they all said. The medical term for it is Allergic Rhinitis.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/health/conditions/allergies/allergicconditions_rhinitis.shtml

It's not the weather that cures it, it'll be being away from whatever the trigger is in your home. Treat yourself to a new mattress. Thumbs Up

Try booking an appointment with another GP Wink

If you can't 'book' an appointment, tell them it's an emergency, they have to see you within 48 hours (and offer you *three different appointments so at least one should suit you - if they don't, helpfully remind them it's in their contract)

Some dilligent hoovering , spraying the sandpaper like wall paper with glue (to prevent those black spores getting a foot hold) and sticking me curtains in the wash, and changing my sheets every couple of days instead of weekly as well as dusting wearing a mask I feel a lot better than previously.
