New 125 rider

[Robert]

I'm hoping to be upgrading from a 50cc to a 125, I've had my eye on a CBR125, but after reading some reviews, I have been put off the small size, I'm just under 6 foot and weigh 9 stone.
I looked at the yamaha yzf 125 but its to expensive and the insurance is over 1K. What are my other options?

Don't write the CBR off just yet. I'm 5 10ish and weigh about the same as you and it's pretty much perfect for me. Go and see one in the flesh and try it out.

Reviews are fine to consider but never ever write off something until you try it, especially when all thats putting you off is other peoples opinion of the size.

I have commented previously that I did not like the CBR when I was looking at a 125 but what wrong with a bike for me might turn out to right for you.

So get down and try it first.

CBR 125 are top bikes... I have one

Also its got power if you need it... and I'm 6ft and about 100kg, fine for me. Top speed I've got on the A roads is 67mph, also runs smooth as silk.

Ok cheers guys, Just another quick question. I dd my CBT on aa Twist and go 50cc ped, will i still be able to ride a geared 125 on the same CBT?

[cicatrez]

yes. It doesn't matter if you have taken your CBT on a twist&go or a geared bike, CBT is valid for both. You only need to make sure that you pass your actual bike test on a geared bike, so you can ride both.
